ERBIL — The Kurdistan Oil Industry Association (APIKUR) has welcomed the approval of the clause related to the resumption of the Kurdistan Region’s oil exports in the federal budget bill.
On Monday, February 3th, Myles Caggins, spokesperson for APIKUR, expressed appreciation for the Iraqi Parliament’s approval of the federal budget law.
He emphasized the significance of the approval, particularly Article 12, which concerns the resumption of oil exports from the Kurdistan Region through the Iraq-Turkey pipeline.
“This is a positive step for the oil industry, and we are hopeful it will lead to a resolution of long-standing issues,” Caggins told Kurdistan 24.
The Iraqi Parliament approved the federal general budget bill on Sunday, with a majority vote.
The bill includes provisions aimed at resuming oil exports from the Kurdistan Region, marking a significant development for both the Kurdish and federal governments.
