‘MyAccount’ Expands ATM Network Across Kurdistan

ERBIL — The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has expanded its “MyAccount” project, providing employees with greater access to their salaries through a growing network of cash withdrawal machines.

According to a statement released by the project on Tuesday, over 1,200 ATMs will be installed across the Kurdistan Region, extending beyond city centers to towns, districts, and remote areas.

“MyAccount beneficiaries will now be able to withdraw their salaries from hundreds of ATMs,” the statement noted, adding that employees can also access funds through participating bank branches.

The “MyAccount” initiative, introduced by the KRG’s Ninth Cabinet, aims to modernize the region’s financial infrastructure by integrating electronic payroll systems and supporting e-governance.

Participating banks include prominent institutions such as the Trade Bank of Iraq (TBI), World Bank, RT Bank, Bank of Baghdad, Islamic Bank of Iraq, National Bank of Iraq, BBAC Bank, and the International Development Bank (IDB).

Launched in partnership with TBI in May 2024, the project enables the electronic deposit of government salaries into individual bank accounts, promoting financial inclusion and reducing cash dependency. Beneficiaries can access a map of all ATM locations in the Kurdistan Region through a dedicated online portal.
