ERBIL — Iraqi security forces announced on Saturday that five Islamic State (IS) militants were killed in an airstrike in Kirkuk province.
According to the statement, Iraqi warplanes targeted an IS hideout in the Zaghyatoon Valley within Kirkuk's borders.
Following the airstrike, security forces inspected the site and confirmed the deaths of five IS militants. They also seized four AK-47 rifles, two explosive vests, six hand grenades, and other IS equipment from the location.
The operation marks a significant step in Iraq’s ongoing efforts to dismantle IS remnants and maintain security in liberated areas.
