International Coalition Allocates $400 Million to Rebuild Areas Freed from IS

ERBIL — The International Coalition Against Islamic State (IS), led by the United States, announced on Saturday a $400 million allocation to support the rebuilding of areas in Iraq and Syria that were liberated from IS control.

In a statement, the coalition emphasized its commitment to helping war-torn communities recover and rebuild. "The coalition is providing nearly $400 million to Iraq and Syria to assist in rebuilding devastated areas, supporting peace, and promoting development," the statement read, noting the importance of continuous efforts to prevent IS's resurgence.

The coalition also welcomed the Maldives as its latest member, bringing the total number of participating countries to 87. The group stressed the importance of international cooperation in countering terrorism and rebuilding areas affected by IS, underscoring the need for global unity to maintain security.

This funding comes as part of ongoing efforts by the coalition to restore stability in regions previously held by IS, focusing on humanitarian aid and infrastructure rebuilding to ensure long-term recovery.
