ERBIL — Kurdish leader Masoud Barzani, president of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), has reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the efforts of the Iraqi and Kurdistan Region Integrity Commissions in their fight against corruption.
Barzani made the statement on Wednesday during a meeting with a joint delegation led by Haider Hanoun, Chairman of the Federal Integrity Commission, and Dr. Ahmad Anwar, Chairman of the Kurdistan Region Integrity Commission.
The discussion centered on the latest measures and initiatives undertaken by both commissions to enhance transparency, combat corruption, and ensure justice. Barzani commended the efforts of both bodies and wished them success in their ongoing duties.
Earlier in the day, Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani unveiled the first strategic report on combating corruption in the public sector, prepared by the Kurdistan Regional Government's (KRG) Corruption Commission. In a special speech, PM Barzani emphasized the KRG's strong commitment to fighting corruption, highlighting the serious work that has been done toward achieving this goal.
The report, which was revealed during a special ceremony supervised by PM Barzani, marks a significant step in the KRG's efforts to address corruption within the Region.
