ERBIL — Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani attended a ceremony on Wednesday to honor several local investors supporting the Kurdistan Regional Government and its reform agenda.

During the ceremony, PM Barzani delivered a special speech, acknowledging the patriotic role of Kurdish investors in assisting the government and its reform efforts in recent years.

“You are aware that we faced a difficult financial situation, which created many problems and obstacles for us both inside and outside Kurdistan. But thank God, and thank you for the resilience of the Kurdish citizens and their support; we have been able to overcome many of these issues and continue the government’s projects and programs,” the Prime Minister said.

“We will never give up serving the citizens of the Kurdistan Region and all of Iraq,” he emphasized. “Our main goal is to promote and build a strong economic infrastructure for the Kurdistan Region.”

He continued, “We also want other regions of Iraq to develop. Iraq is a rich country, abundant in natural, human, and material resources, yet Iraqi citizens are living in poor conditions and do not enjoy the benefits of these vast revenues. Good governance and services are crucial.”

“The level of services and basic necessities of life in Iraq is poor. Unfortunately, the Kurdistan Region is paying the price for unhealthy and unfair policies imposed by some individuals who do not treat the region equitably,” he stated.

“The progress and development of the Kurdistan Region benefit all of Iraq. The federal government and the Kurdistan Region should compete to see who can better serve the citizens and implement important strategic projects,” PM Barzani noted.

“We will never give up, and with the support of God and your cooperation, we will continue our programs to serve the citizens of the Kurdistan Region and all of Iraq,” the Kurdistan Region Prime Minister concluded.
