ERBIL — A young filmmaker from Garmian is making waves on the international stage with his documentary film "980," which has advanced to the final stage of an international film festival in Australia.
Nabard Fuad, who holds a doctorate in film dialogue, told BasNews that "980" has already participated in 75 international festivals, standing out among more than 2,500 films to reach the semi-finals. The documentary’s success marks a significant achievement for the young director.
Nabard Fuad’s academic work is also groundbreaking; his doctoral thesis focuses on the analysis of political discourse in film dialogue. He noted that this is the first doctoral thesis of its kind in the world, highlighting his innovative approach to the study of film and politics.
Originally from Khanaqin, Fuad later moved to Kalar in the Garmian Administration, where he has settled. Before embarking on his filmmaking journey, he worked as a journalist for several media outlets.
