ERBIL — Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani delivered an impassioned speech at the Newroz carnival in Akre, emphasizing the significance of the occasion and pledging to address pressing issues faced by the Kurdish people.

Speaking at the vibrant celebration attended by dozens of foreign diplomats and US-led Coalition commanders, PM Barzani hailed Akre as the epicenter of Newroz festivities, expressing his desire for the town to become synonymous with the annual celebration not only in Kurdistan but worldwide. He extended heartfelt Newroz greetings to all Kurdish people, both within and outside Kurdistan, as well as to other nations marking the occasion.

The prime minister also took a moment to extend condolences to the families affected by recent rain and floods in Duhok and Zakho, assuring them of the government's commitment to providing assistance and compensation for their losses.

Addressing the challenges faced by the Kurdish populace, particularly concerning delayed salaries and budgetary constraints, Prime Minister Barzani acknowledged the hardships endured and affirmed the government's efforts to resolve these issues. He assured the audience that discussions were underway with the prime minister to find a solution, expressing hope for a resolution in the coming days.
