ERBIL — The Lutka Mountaineering Crew has embarked on a daring journey to Kunaspi cave in the Kurdistan Region’s Choman district to document the cave's mysteries in a comprehensive documentary.
This intrepid group of climbers committed to a grueling 13-hour expedition, traversing the intricate and treacherous paths within the cave, most of which had been previously visited only by a handful of locals, primarily beginners.
Kunaspi cave, shaped by centuries of water flow, reveals its geological wonders through numerous floors and passages, some brimming with water.
The explorers meticulously charted the cave's labyrinthine interior, crafting a detailed map that will be stored in a database. This invaluable resource is intended for use by the mountaineering school, serving as a reference for future adventures and expeditions.
