Kurdistan Region Crude Exports to Resume Within Days: Official

ERBIL — The Iraqi Oil Ministry has announced that KRG’s oil exports will restart shortly following a newly signed contract with a foreign company. This agreement will enable the initial shipment of oil from the Kurdistan Region to be exported through Turkey's Ceyhan port in the coming days.

The Ministry has finalized four drafts of oil sale contracts with international companies. In addition, the Iraqi Oil Marketing Company (SOMO) has successfully entered into an agreement with a foreign company to sell oil from the Kurdistan Region through Ceyhan port, according to Bassem Khazir Abadi, the Deputy Minister of Oil for Extraction Affairs.

The official further mentioned that the remaining three contracts will be officially signed, paving the way for the commencement of oil exports from the Kurdistan Region in the coming days.

Abadi also added that the Iraqi Oil Ministry is fully prepared for resuming exports, pending the completion of oil pipeline inspections by the Turkish authorities.

"The Oil Ministry and the Turkish side have overcome the obstacles that preceded the agreement to sell oil through the Ceyhan port," he said.
