ERBIL — Kurdistan Region’s condition for the political process in Iraq is the factions’ commitment to the principles of partnership, balance, and consensus, said Kurdish leader Masoud Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP).
The remarks were made while discussing the political developments and the challenges faced by Iraq during a meeting between Barzani and Stig Paolo Piras, the Danish Ambassador to Iraq.
During the meeting, Ambassador Piras thanked the Kurdistan Region for coordinating with Denmark when a Danish tourist was killed by a landmine earlier in may this year.
Piras was in Erbil to bid farewell as his deployment to Iraq comes to an end, according to a press release by the Barzani Headquarters.
“Also during the meeting, views were exchanged on the threat of terrorism, stability of the liberated areas, and the current situation in Sinjar,” the press realize added.
