ERBIL — A Turkish airstrike on Wednesday targeted a position of the Sinjar Resistance Unit (YBS) in Sinune district of Sinjar.
The airstrike against the YBS forces, a group affiliated with the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), has left several fighters killed or injured, according to Kurdistan Region’s Counter-Terrorism Unit.
However, Qasim Shasho, a Peshmerga commander in the region, told BasNews that the airstrike targeted the PKK-linked Ezidkhan Security Forces where a meeting of the groups’ leaders was taking place.
Kurdistan 24 reported that at least six people were killed in the attack which was carried out by a Turkish drone.
