ERBIL — Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi on Wednesday received Parliament Speaker Mohammed al-Halbousi to discuss the latest developments in Iraq.
Kadhimi's office said in a press release that the pair exchanged views on the political and security situation in Iraq.
They stressed the need to enhance coordination and cooperation between the executive and legislative authorities to respond to the "aspirations of all the Iraqis," according to the press release.
The meeting comes as Iraq is struggling to elect a new president, and then, a new president for the country, nearly eight months after it held its parliamentary elections.
