PM Barzani, Jordanian FM Discuss Regional Security, Bilateral Ties

ERBIL — Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Tuesday met with Jordan Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi to discuss bilateral ties and regional security among other topics. 

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the annual summit of the World Economic Forum (WEF) where the Kurdish prime minister is set to speak at a panel discussion with other officials from Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Kuwait on security in the Middle East. 

PM Barzani wrote on Twitter that he had discussed regional security and political developments as well as how Iraq’s friends and partners can support the Kurdistan Region and the country’s political and economic aspirations. 

“We both know the value of our special relationship,” he stressed about the ties between the Kurdistan Region and Jordan. 

While in Davos, the Kurdish prime minister has met with several senior government officials, international organizations, and business owners to discuss strengthening relations with the Kurdistan Region.
