ERBIL — Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Saturday arrived in Abu Dhabi to participate in the funereal of former UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan who passed away yesterday.
Prime Minister Barzani was officially received by the newly-elected president of the UAE, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Kurdistan 24 reported.

The Kurdish premier is also in Abu Dhabi to congratulate Sheikh Mohamed on his election as the new leader of the country, according to the report.
The 61-year-old was elected by the Federal Supreme Council today, a day after the death of former President Sheikh Khalifa, who died at the age of 73.
"On the occasion of the election of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed as President of the United Arab Emirates, I extend to His Highness my warmest congratulations and blessings," PM Barzani wrote on Twitter on Saturday morning.
"On this occasion, I look forward to strengthening the distinguished relations between the Kurdistan Region and the UAE, and wish him success in his noble tasks," he added, referring the strong bilateral relations between the Kurdistan Region and UAE, particularly in the fields of economy and trade.
