ERBIL — Kurdistan Region PM Masrour Barzani on Wednesday received a delegation from the US-led Coalition in Erbil where they discussed reforms within the Peshmerga Ministry among other topics.
The delegation was led by Colonel Todd Burroughs, outgoing Deputy Director of the Military Advisor Group (North) in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq within the Combined Joint Task Force Operation Inherent Resolve (CJTFOIR).
During the meeting, Prime Minister Barzani expressed gratitude to the Global Coalition for providing "consistent" support to the Peshmerga forces, wishing Colonel Burroughs success in his future endeavours, the prime minister’s office said in a press release.
"In the meeting, ongoing reforms within the Ministry of Peshmerga and the importance of supporting the Peshmerga in their fight against ISIS were discussed," the press release added.
They also stressed the importance of further developing cooperation between the Peshmerga forces and the Iraqi Army so to ensure the security of the region.
