ERBIL — A commander of the the Shia militia Badr Organization, part and parcel of the Iran-backed Hashd al-Shaabi, was attacked with a bomb in Prde, north of Kirkuk.
A local source told BasNews that two men on a motorbike threw a bomb into the residence of deputy commander of Badr forces in Prde, Mohammed Amir, early hours on Sunday.
No one was hurt but the explosion caused material damage to the building and a parked vehicle in the yard, the source added.
The assailants escaped before the security forces arrived at the scene.
Prde (Altun Kopri) is a Kurdish town north of Kirkuk and south of Erbil. It is disputed between the Kurdistan Region and Iraqi government, and currently under the control of the latter.
