ERBIL — A military base home to Turkish troops in Iraq’s northern province of Nineveh came under attack early on Monday for the second time in the past 24 hours.
Locals in Shekhan and Bardarash districts of Duhok said multiple explosions were heard at around 02:00 am.
According to initial reports, one of the rockets landed in the vicinity of the Kurdish-populated village of Taq while another hit an open area near Qaimawa village of Kalakchi subdistrict.
There were no reports of casualties or serious material damage caused to the Turkish base or any civilian properties.
No claim of responsibility has been made yet.
BasNews reported hours earlier that at least seven rockets were fired from the surroundings of Tel Kaif district towards Zilikana Base of the Turkish forces, causing no casualties.
