PM Barzani Awards Top 12th Grade Students of 2021

ERBIL — Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, during a ceremony in the capital Erbil on Wednesday, awarded the top 12th grade graduate students.

PM Barzani delivered a statement during the ceremony with students from different cities of Kurdistan Region as well as the territories disputed between Erbil and Baghdad, including Kirkuk province and Tuz Khurmatu district, attending it.

The Kurdish prime minister also thanked the students' parents and their teachers, "who worked hard to support the students."

"I would like to thank the parents of the students and the teachers” he said. "I would like to thank the teachers for providing a healthy studying environment for the students despite the challenges."

He also hoped that successful students can flourish in the Kurdistan Region, adding that the goal for studying should be for the purpose of developing the country and strengthening it, reminding: "Together, we can build a stronger and more developed country."

Barzani also urged the students to "support and respect" the peaceful coexistence and work for supporting the ethnic diversity of our country.

Referring to the pandemic situation in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, the premier strongly urged the attendees to get vaccinated, warning that the coronavirus continues to further spread in the country.

"I personally talked to the minister of health who confirmed that vaccines are available, so please get vaccinated to protect yourself and your country."

Following the ceremony, PM Barzani wrote on Twitter: "Honored to award Kurdistan’s top 12th grade students. They are the ones who will lead our future, and I hope they use their education to build a better Kurdistan for us all. My message to them and our youth: love and respect life, your nation, and the environment."
