ERBIL — Kurdish leader and the president of Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) Masoud Barzani on Sunday received the first Iraqi delegation since the last week’s parliamentary elections.
The delegation was led by Kamis Khanjar, head of Azim Allience, which has won 12 seats at the next Iraqi parliament according to the official results by the Iraqi Independent High Electoral Commission.
During the meeting, Barzani and Khanjar reviewed the election process and the latest developments in Iraq and the region, reads a press release by Barzani Headquarters.
Discussing the post-election political efforts to establish an inclusive government in Baghdad, Barzani and Khanjar hoped that the next stage will bring better stability to Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
