ERBIL — A total of 12,180 new coronavirus cases have been recorded across Iraq over the past 24 hours, the country's Health Ministry said on Monday.
The new reports bring the tally in Iraq, including the provinces of Kurdistan Region, to 1,564,828 as the pandemic situation has dramatically worsened in the country over the past few weeks.
Meanwhile, there were 9,966 new coronavirus recoveries within the same period, the ministry said in a statement.
The death toll also spiked to 18,347 after 60 more people lost their lives due to COVID-19 on Monday.
Out of the total number of cases so far recorded across the country, Iraq has also registered 1,420,995 recoveries.
