ERBIL - Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi on Sunday began his official visit to Washington where he is expected to discuss bilateral ties with the US leaders.
Kadhimi is said to stay in Washington for a few days to discuss a number of issues related to the security and military relations between Iraq and the United States.
Before leaving for the US, Kadhimi explained in a statement that the main aim of his visit would be to further strengthen the relations between the two countries based on respecting cooperations in the fields of military, security, and health.
The Iraqi Prime Minister is expected to meet with US President Joe Biden and other top officials to highlight the future of the US forces in Iraq.
This comes while discussions, as part of the fourth Strategic Dialogue between the two countries, have been ongoing between the Iraqi and US officials over the past few days.
