ERBIL — Another Iraqi activist was murdered on Sunday in the country’s southern province of Basra, media reports said.
Ali Karim was abducted by an unidentified group on Saturday. His body was found in Zubair district of Basra less than 24 hours after his abduction.
Karim was the son of Fatima Bahadili, a prominent human rights activist who won the Front Line Defenders award late in 2020.
She lost another son last year in a suspicious incident.
She is among the prominent activists strongly criticizing the role of Iran and its militia forces in Iraq.
