ERBIL — Iran-backed Shia militias of Hashd al-Shaabi on Saturday held a massive military parade in Diyala province, east of Iraq.
During the parade, according to photographs obtained by BasNews, the paramilitary group showcased drones, US-made armored vehicles, and other sorts of heavy weapons.
The parade was attended by Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi, who also serves as the country’s Commander-in-Chief.
Hashd al-Shaabi consists of more than 60 Shia militia groups, some of which are closely affiliated with Iran and work to oust the US forces from Iraq.
These groups were recently accused by Washington of using explosive-laden drones to attack the US bases in Iraq.
