ERBIL — Two civilians were killed on Saturday in a bomb blast near Tuz Khurmatu, north of Salahaddin province.
Tuz Khurmatu Police Chief Brig. Gen.Hussein Ali told BasNews that the victims were brothers and they had died instantly after the explosion in a farm near their home.
Preliminary investigations indicate the blast was carried out by an improvised explosive device (IED) suspect to have been made by the Islamic State (IS).
Security forces have arrived in the area for further investigations and searching the area for similar explosives, Ali added.
