ERBIL - Iraqi security forces on Friday managed to seize explosives and rockets in Nineveh province, a statement said.
Iraq's Security Media Cell said in a statement that it had received intelligence information on a vehicle driven by three suspects who escaped the area before the security forces could arrive there.
Inside the vehicle, a great proportion of ammunition was seized.
The statement noted that five explosive charges, three different projectiles, three different missiles, and two different grenades were seized.
Special teams dealt with the explosive devices found in the car and exploded them in a safe area.
It was not clear to which group the explosives belonged, but it was mentioned that they had been prepared for terrorist attacks in the region.
