ERBIL - Turkey's Ministry of National Defense claimed in a statement on Wednesday that the country's forces had "neutralized" four members of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK).
According to the ministry, the PKK fighters were targeted during an operation carried out by the Turkish warplanes in the Kurdistan Region's border areas, where a number of PKK positions were also hit.
"Our heroic Turkish Armed Forces continue to destroy the terror dens in northern Iraq," reads the statement. "4 more PKK terrorists detected in Gara were neutralized with the successful air operation organized by our Air Force."
The Turkish army and PKK are in a military conflict for more than three decades over the Kurdish question in the country.
The Kurdish armed group is viewed as a "terrorist organisation" by Ankara.
