ERBIL - The coronavirus tally in Iraq rose to 1,269,440 after more than 5,100 other people tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday.
A statement by the country's Ministry of Health explained that 5,139 individuals were found positive for the novel virus and 3,779 patients were discharged from the hospital.
Since yesterday, the pandemic has claimed the lives of 19 other individuals across Iraq, including the provinces of Kurdistan Region.
Out of the total confirmed cases in Iraq, the health ministry has recorded 1,184,492 recoveries since February 2020, while 16,781 others lost their lives.
The coronavirus situation in Iraq has begun to deteriorate but it seems that it is improving in the Kurdistan Region where the daily number of recoveries is higher than the new infections.
