Peshmerga Receives New Military Assistance from US-led Coalition

ERBIL - The Kurdistan Region's Peshmerga fighters have received a new batch of military assistance from the US-led Coalition to combat the Islamic State (IS).

"The Peshmerga forces recently received weapons & equipment worth more than $3 million thru the U.S. CTEF program, overseen by OIR," Coalition Spokesperson Col. Wayne Marotto, said in a statement on Twitter.

He further reiterated that "the @Coalition remains committed to working closely with our ISF & Peshmerga partners in their fight to DefeatDeash."

Meanwhile, Wayne pointed out that "our partners" had completed 13 operations against the Islamic State and managed to prevent three jihadists from committing acts of terrorism against the people of Iraq and Syria.
