Shia Militia Groups Kidnap Kurdish Civilian in Kirkuk: Report

ERBIL - Shia militia groups on Saturday kidnapped a Kurdish civilian in the disputed province of Kirkuk, a report has revealed.

Speaking to Kurdistan 24, a source from Kirkuk Police, pointed out that those who kidnapped the Kurdish civilian were members of the "Badr" organization, the largest of pro-Iran Hashd al-Shaabi.

They abducted the young man in Qadisiyah neighborhood, east of Kirkuk, reportedly over criticising the Hashd al-Shaabi in a social media post.

Before the police forces arrived at the scene, the militia groups kidnapped the Kurdish man to an unknown location, but they were later found to have gone to a Hashd al-Shaabi headquarters in Kirkuk.
