ERBIL — The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is willing to boost its bilateral relations with the Kurdistan Region, especially in the fields of trade and investment, the country’s Consul General said.
The message was delivered during a meeting between Prime Minister Masrour Barzani and Mohammad bin Suleiman al-Asiri, the new Consul General of Saudi Arabia in Erbil.
“Al-Asiri delivered the personal regards of Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman, and declared the kingdom’s readiness and willingness to strengthen their relationship with the Kurdistan Regional Government, especially in the fields of trade and investment,” reads a statement by the KRG.
During the meeting, PM Barzani expressed his hopes of elevating the ties between the Kurdistan Region and Riyadh.
