ERBIL — Islamic State (IS) militants once again on Wednesday night attacked the Iraqi forces in Kirkuk province, killing one soldier and injuring two others.
The attack targeted the Iraqi Army forces near Dibis district, north of Kirkuk, a police spokesperson told BasNews.
“There was a heavy fire exchange before the IS militants escaped the area,” the spokesperson added.
IS has stepped up its terrorist activities in Kirkuk significantly. It killed and injured several military personnel in Hawija, Daquq, and other areas of the province within the past 48 hours only.
