ERBIL — The Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) fighters on Wednesday night attacked an outpost of the Kurdistan Region Peshmerga forces in the mountainous areas of Erbil province.
Commander of Halgord Peshmerga Command, Bahram Arif Yasin, told Kurdistan 24 that the attack targeted a Peshmerga outpost near Sidakan subdistrict, northeast of capital Erbil.
The PKK fighters used RPGs and BKC machine guns as well as light weapons during the attack, which was repelled by the Peshmerga forces.
Yasin confirmed that no casualties had been reported among the Peshmerga forces.
