ERBIL - Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani chaired a cabinet meeting on Wednesday to discuss the national strategy to combat corruption, a statement said.
During the meeting, the head of the Kurdistan Region's Integrity Commission presented a draft of the national strategy for combating corruption in the Kurdistan Region, a KRG statement said.
The Council of Ministers stressed on the need to combat corruption and "prevent the waste of public wealth" within the framework of the agenda of the ninth cabinet.
Meanwhile, Minister of Planning Dara Rashid presented a report on the revenues and expenditures of the regional government and its reorganization within the region's budget bill for the year 2021, with the Council of Ministers discussing the latest preparations on the draft law.
According to the statement, the council will vote on the project in the upcoming meetings before it is sent to the parliament.
The Council of Ministers also approved a draft law for the private security companies in the Kurdistan Region.
