ERBIL — Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammed Javad Zarif will visit Iraq and Kurdistan Region on Sunday.
Saeed Khatibzade, a spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Zarif will hold separate meetings with top Iraqi and Kurdish officials to discuss “bilateral ties and regional developments”.
After Iraq, the Iranian top diplomat is set to visit Qatar.
Zarif’s visit to Iraq comes after reports claimed that Iraq had recently invited Iran and Saudi Arabia to a negotiating table in Baghdad. However, the outcome of the talks were not disclosed.
