ERBIL - Iraq's Ministry of Health said on Thursday that it had recorded 8,450 new coronavirus cases across the country within 24 hours.
The ministry explained in a statement that it also registered 6,872 new recoveries with 30 fatalities related to the pandemic within the same period.
The coronavirus tally, with the new reports, reached 1,010,304, out of which 884,181 people have already recovered from COVID-19 and 15,128 others died since the outbreak of the virus in the country.
According to the available updates, Iraq has taken the first place among the Arab countries for COVID-19 infections.
