ERBIL - At least six Iraqi soldiers and security personnel were either killed or wounded in two separate bomb explosions, the police reported on Wednesday.

Confirming to BasNews, Falah Mohammed, a police officer in Jalawla subdistrict, noted that a bomb exploded on Tuesday night in an area between Khanaqin and Jalawla, killed one Iraqi soldier and wounded three others.

Meanwhile, a similar bombing was reported during the same night on a road connecting Amirli to Ozem and Hamrin areas which resulted in the killing of two security personnel, Kahin Mohammed, Chief of Amirli Police, confirmed to BasNews.

The two security personnel were targeted during a search operation for the remnants of the Islamic State (IS) in the region, he added.
