ERBIL - A bomb explosion left a young shepherd killed in the disputed Kurdish district of Tuz Khurmatu, local police confirmed on Wednesday.
The incident took place in the village of Barawchili, Amirli town, on Tuesday night, where an explosive device went off and killed a 15-year-old shepherd, Chief of Tuz Khurmatu Police Hussein Ali told BasNews.
The victim was identified as Ali Burhan Jamal, whose body was taken to the forensic science department, according to the police official.
The bomb had previously been planted by the jihadists of the Islamic State (IS), Ali revealed.
The insurgent group is still active in most parts of Iraq. Both local and international political leaders have repeatedly warned of serious IS resurgence in the country.
