ERBIL - Iraq's Ministry of Health reported on Tuesday that it had recorded a total of 8,208 new coronavirus cases across the country in the past 24 hours.
This came after 43,780 people went through medical checks within the previous day, the ministry said in a statement, also reporting that 34 other individuals lost their lives.
During the same period, at least 6,888 patients were discharged from the hospital.
The new reports bring the coronavirus tally across Iraq to 993,158, out of which 870,927 people have recovered and 15,060 others lost their lives since the outbreak of the virus in the region.
According to the latest updates, which also include those recorded in the Kurdistan Region, there are currently 107,171 active cases.
