Roadside Bombing Kills Two Iraqi Security Officers

ERBIL - At least two Iraqi security officers were killed as a result of a roadside bomb explosion in Salahaddin province, a source said on Tuesday.

A security source said in a statement that an explosive device went off near Mount Hamrin while a convoy of Iraq's National Security Service (NSS) was passing by.

The explosion left two officers killed, the source said, with no further details on the incident.

No groups were immediately blamed for the bombing, with the Islamic State (IS) remaining the main suspect to be behind the incident as the insurgent group is still active in most parts of Iraq.
