ERBIL - Islamic State (IS) jihadists bombarded the Iraqi army and pro-Iran Hashd al-Shaabi militiamen in Daquq, with casualties reported.
Najim Ubedi, a police officer in Daquq, confirmed the report to BasNews and noted that the bombardment was in Abu Shahab village where the Iraqi army and Hashd al-Shaabi are present.
"As a result of this bombardment, a soldier of the Iraqi army was killed and another was injured while two fighters of Hashd al-Shaabi were injured," the police officer said.
The Islamic State still poses a serious threat to the security forces and civilians in Iraq, particularly in those territories disputed between Erbil and Baghdad.
