Bomb Blast Wounds Civilian in Diyala

ERBIL - At least one civilian was injured after an explosive device went off in the Iraqi province of Diyala on Wednesday.

Speaking to BasNews, Nihad Mohammed, a spokesperson for Diyala Police, confirmed the report and explained that the bomb exploded in the village of Qizillja, in Sharaban town.

The bombing left a civilian severely wounded, the spokesperson added.

"Planting bombs in those areas are done by terrorists of Daesh," Mohammed said, using an Arabic acronym for the Islamic State (IS).

The jihadist group still poses a serious threat to the security forces and civilians in the disputed areas.
