ERBIL — Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Thursday received a diplomatic delegation led by Jang Kyung Wook, the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, to discuss opportunities to bolster bilateral relations.
During the meeting, which was attended by Korean Consul General to Erbil Kwang-jin Choi, Ambassador Jang Kyung Wook said his country was willing to further develop cooperation with the Kurdistan Region in the areas of trade, economy, and culture.
He also noted that the Republic of Korea will remain a close partner to assist the huge number of Iraqi displaced people and Syrian refugees who have escaped to the Kurdistan Region to find safe shelter.
Highlighting the long-standing relations between Erbil and Seul, Prime Minister Barzani thanked the Republic of Korea for standing with the Kurds during the hard times in the past, and implementing multiple developments in the Kurdistan Region.
He also welcomed a stronger cooperation in the areas of potential cooperation.
