ERBIL - Iraq's Ministry of Health on Tuesday reported the highest daily number of coronavirus cases since its outbreak in the country.
The total number of people so far diagnosed with COVID-19 across Iraq spiked to 887,291 after 7,300 other people tested positive for the virus on Tuesday, the ministry said in a statement.
However, at least 5,225 individuals recovered from COVID-19 during the same period.
The coronavirus claimed 33 other lives, with which the death toll reaches 14,535.
Out of the total infections, 789,424 people have so far recovered from COVID-19 since February, 2020.
The pandemic situation in Iraq continues to deteriorate while the Health Ministry blames the citizens for not abiding by the official guidelines and not being active in receiving vaccines.
