ERBIL - Iraqi warplanes carried out an airstrike against the Islamic State (IS) jihadists in Khanaqin town on Wednesday, killing four insurgents.
Confirming to BasNews, Falah Mohammed, a police officer in Khanaqin, pointed out that the air raid was conducted on Wednesday afternoon in Jalawla subdistrict.
"The killing of these militants of Daesh came after the militants wounded three Iraqi soldiers in the region today [Wednesday]," Mohammed added.
The police officer told BasNews in a separate statement earlier the day that the Islamic State snipers had left at least three Iraqi soldiers injured in Jalawla.
The militants also kidnapped a farmer in Dawood Alwaka village, Kirkuk province, on Tuesday night, the fate of whom has so far remained unknown.
