ERBIL — The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has “strongly” condemned the attack on MP Ghalib Mohammed in Sulaymaniyah.

Mohammed was attacked by an unidentified assailant on Friday outside his home in Sulaymaniyah, and was injured. He is a member of the Iraqi parliament.

“Security institutions are tasked to find the perpetrators and face them with justice,” reads the statement from KRG Spokesperson Jotiar Adel.

The KRG has also reaffirmed commitment to protect every citizen and hold accountable those who commit an act of violence.
