ERBIL — Iranian security forces on Wednesday opened fire at two Kurdish citizens in northwest of the country and killed them, a monitoring group said.
Abdollah Naderi and Osman Naderi were shot dead while driving between Shinabad and Piranshahr in Western Azarbaijan, Hengaw Organization for Human Rights said.
The Iranian security forces opened fire without a warning and left the brothers killed instantly.
Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence issued a statement after the incident and claimed that the Naderi brothers were planning a “terrorist” attack.
It also claimed that an AK-47 and grenade were seized from their vehicle, without providing any evidence.
Hengaw also reported that Iranian intelligence service in Piranshar had detained the parents and several other family members of the Naderi brothers.
