ERBIL - Kurdistan Region's security forces on Tuesday managed to seize at least three kilograms of illegal drugs in the district of Soran, northeast of capital Erbil, a statement has confirmed.
A statement by Soran's anti-drug force explained that the security forces also arrested three suspects, including one Iranian national and two others from the Kurdistan Region, accused of dealing illicit drugs.
The trio was arrested in possession of three kilograms of crystal meth, the statement added.
The security forces in the Kurdistan Region often arrest people involved in illegal drug dealings, usually attempting to smuggle drugs from neighboring Iran.
Erbil counter-narcotics forces, earlier in December, revealed that they had confiscated over 550 kilograms of illicit drugs, mostly heroin, during their activities in 2020.
