ERBIL - Within the past 24 hours, the Kurdistan Region has recorded nearly 130 new infections of COVID-19 across the region, the Health Ministry said on Tuesday.
Out of 4,732 suspects who took tests for the coronavirus during the previous day, at least 129 while 67 people were discharged from the hospital, the ministry said in a statement.
The coronavirus also took at least two more lives on Tuesday.
The Kurdistan Region has so far seen a total of 108,062 since last March, from which 103,078 patients have recovered and 3,510 others lost their lives, with 1,474 cases remaining active.
Although the pandemic situation seems to have begun deteriorating in the Kurdistan Region, the regional government has decided to resume the education process, for which it has also taken several protective measures to ensure the situation would stay in control.
