ERBIL - The Chief Justice of Iran is scheduled to pay an official visit to Iraq on Monday, a statement has confirmed.
The Supreme Judicial Council of Iraq said in a statement that its President Faiyq Zidan has invited Iran's Ebrahim Raisi to visit Baghdad on Monday.
According to the statement, Raisi will lead a delegation who will meet with officials from Iraq's Supreme Judicial Council on Tuesday to sign a number of Memoranda of Understanding between Baghdad and Tehran.
The Memoranda of Understanding will be regarding closer cooperations between the two countries' judicial branches.
On the sidelines of the visit, the Iranian delegation is also expected to hold meetings with Iraq's Ministry of Justice, the Commission of Integrity, as well as the Independent High Electoral Commission.
